What Is Respite or STA?

Respite, also known as Short Term Accommodation (STA) under the NDIS, provides temporary care and support for individuals with a disability. It allows regular carers to take time out to rest, recover, or attend to other responsibilities—whether for a few hours, a weekend, or several weeks.

While you take a well-earned break, we ensure your loved one is well cared for by experienced, compassionate professionals who maintain routines and promote engaging, meaningful experiences.

Who Can Access Respite/STA?

You can access respite or Short-Term Accommodation (STA) if:

You have an active NDIS plan with Core Supports funding
It helps you work toward your NDIS goals or gives your informal supports a break
It’s considered reasonable and necessary by the NDIS

STA usually covers up to 28 days per year, including accommodation, care, meals, and activities.
